Privacy policy
Maddie's Walk & Stay is the data controller for the personal information described below, and handles it in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What I collect
Your name, contact details, address and access arrangements; your pet’s details including health, medication and vet information; booking history and payment records; photographs taken during visits; and enquiry messages you send through this website.
Why I collect it
To answer enquiries, provide and schedule pet care, keep your pet safe, contact your vet in an emergency, take payment, and keep records required for insurance and tax. The lawful bases are performance of a contract, legitimate interests, and legal obligation.
Photographs
Photographs are taken so that you can see how your pet is getting on. They are only ever published on this website or social media with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who it’s shared with
Nobody, other than your named vet in an emergency, and service providers who help run the business (for example website hosting, accounting or payment processing). Your data is never sold.
How long it’s kept
Client and booking records are kept for six years after your last booking to meet insurance and tax requirements. Enquiries that don’t become bookings are deleted within twelve months.
Your rights
You may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing. To exercise any of these, contact Maddie directly. If you’re unhappy with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Records are held on password-protected devices and accounts. Keys are coded rather than labelled with your address and stored securely.
